ISO-STROH is processed in a patented method that cracks the fibers both longitudinally and crosswise – resulting in a unique fiber structure that does not mat during installation.
The process removes the hollow chamber inside the stalk as well as any remaining dust and grain. This creates our uniquely blow-in-capable, certified settlement-proof insulation material with high density, excellent thermal mass, and outstanding sound insulation – all without chemical additives.
In addition, ISO-STROH is officially approved as a building material under ETA-24/0228.
ISO-STROH was developed as an advancement of traditional cellulose insulation – offering improved sound insulation thanks to significantly higher blow-in density, certified settlement resistance, and no need for chemical fire retardants such as borates.

The natural silica content makes ISO-STROH fire-resistant. It has been rated as Class E according to EN 13501-1:2018 – an excellent result for a natural insulation material.
While some insulations may offer higher fire resistance, no other material releases fewer toxic substances when burned than untreated ISO-STROH – an often overlooked but critical factor for evacuation safety.
No – residual grains are removed during processing, and the high density combined with the lack of a food source makes ISO-STROH unattractive to rodents.
Its vapor-open structure absorbs excess moisture from the air and releases it when dry – giving mold little chance to grow.
